    Buchpräsentation mit Musik

    Max Mutzke
    präsentiert sein erstes Kinderbuch
„Komm mit ins Paradies der Träumer“
Lesung mit Musik für Familien mit Kindern ab 5 Jahren!

    Max Mutzke, Lesung & Gesang
    Nick Flade, Klavier

On German Unity Day, on 3rd October, Lukas Bachl, Executive Chef Schloss Elmau hands over the scepter of his kitchen to exceptional chef Dieter Müller and two of his top students for a special evening. Chef Müller will be supported by Philipp Vogel, General Manager and Executive Chef at the Orania hotel in Berlin. And by Christoph Rainer, Executive Chef Luce d’Oro, Schloss Elmau. Both look back with pleasure on their time together at the Dieter Müller Restaurant at Schloss Lerbach, and look forward with happy anticipation to a reunion with their former boss and mentor. “My apprenticeship years with Mr. Müller were very formative for me, and formed the basis for my current Franco-Japanese style of cooking,” says Chris Rainer. Philipp Vogel also looks forward to their time together in the Fidelio kitchen. “We’ve created a winning menu with three different cooking styles. I’m already very excited to see how our guests will respond,” says Vogel.

    Brad Mehldau piano
Why you must attend this concert:
The great American pianist Brad Mehldau is the benchmark of jazz piano

    LISTEN IN HERE!

"A Star Is Born" was the headline of a major German newspaper in the late 1990s, when Brad Mehldau gave one of his first concerts in Europe. Since then, the versatile and highly creative keyboard-magician has unfolded an unprecedented international career, establishing himself as a bandleader and composer alike. His solo evening in Schloss Elmau will certainly not be a "back to the roots", as the rate at which Brad Mehldau reinvents himself is without equal.

Rabih Abou-Khalil is a border crosser between worlds, moving from traditional Arabic music and European classical music to open jazz. Like a wanderer between cultures, the Lebanese-born oud virtuoso and composer combines Arabic, European and American music into a highly intelligent melange, far removed from any world music fashions. With an alert mind, a high level of playful and compositional competence, and a good dose of humor, he succeeds in an extraordinary way in merging the often contrasting worlds.

„Closer“Why you must attend this concert:
ECHO-Jazz-Award winners Nils Wülker and Arne Jansen in duo, the smallest form of musical communication

    LISTEN IN HERE!

Harmony and tension, gentleness and strength - contrasts are hardly ever so palpable and close as in a pair. In the active dialogue of the musical duo, in the constant give and take , listening and communicating, demanding and encouraging, the two ECHO-Jazz-Award winners Nils Wülker and Arne Jansen invite us to their duo project. Their album “Closer” succeeded directly after its release at the beginning of February and reached an unbelievable 15th place in the German cross-genre charts - a small accolade for a jazz album, and an instrumental one at that.

    Literature Days “Diaries”
    Media of self-assurance

There are few things more private than a diary. No other form of writing is as subjective, none conveys a similarly fresh impression of what has just been experienced. The history of this special kind of autobiographical writing stretches from antiquity to public Internet blogs. It shows the change in the way humankind sees itself in relation to history.

Why you must attend this event:
„Timothy Garton Ash is one of the world's most influential political publicists.“ (Joachim Gärtner, ARD TTT)

    in German

    DETAILS ABOUT THE BOOK

Timothy Garton Ash is a passionate European. Even before 1989, he refused to accept the division of the continent, and he fought against Brexit until the very end. Now he is writing his own personal history of Europe. He tells of friends like Václav Havel, recalls the fall of the Berlin Wall and provides an analysis of recent history. The attack on Ukraine shows how urgently we need a free and united continent – no one embodies this idea more convincingly than Timothy Garton Ash.

    „Welt in Aufruhr –
Die Ordnung der Mächte im 21. Jahrhundert“

“Mozart y Mambo” – A Mozart tribute on the composer's birthday)Why you must attend this concert:
The successful project of the sought-after horn player combines Mozart with traditional Cuban music

    HIER REINHÖREN!

This project by Sarah Willis, the sought-after horn player of the Berlin Philharmonic, combines Mozart's music with traditional Cuban music. That may not be the most obvious combination for some, but to that Sarah Willis simply replies “Just listen to it and you'll know why!” The dance-like lightness of Mozart's music translates easily into the Cuban attitude to life, and the energy and passion of the young Cuban musicians are so intoxicating that the special atmosphere becomes immediately tangible, she says. And indeed – when you listen to this ravishing Mozart-Mambo mix, you just want to dance. A Mozart homage on the composer's birthday!

Since 2018, Georgijs Osokins has worked closely with Gidon Kremer, who appointed him the first permanent guest artist of the Kremerata Baltica in its 22-year history.
