Why you must attend this concert:
Classic meets traditionals – star violinist Daniel Hope dedicates himself to the colourful and rousing Irish music and traces his “Irish Roots”.

Irish traditionals and works by Purcell, Vivaldi et al.

Daniel Hope owes his deep connection to the Emerald Isle to his great-grandfather. In pieces such as “Danny Boy” and Vivaldi's “L'estro armonico” concertos, the violin star now expresses this part of his musical DNA and masterfully combines classical music with Irish traditional tunes.

Igor Levit - Artist in Residence 2026
    Igor Levit plays Beethoven

Igor Levit is considered one of the most innovative and versatile pianists worldwide. The New York Times calls him one of the "most important artists of his generation," while the Süddeutsche Zeitung describes him as a "stroke of luck" for the concert scene. He consistently places his art in the context of societal events, understanding it as inseparably linked to them. As Artist in Residence in 2026, Levit shapes this year's concert program at Schloss Elmau with six piano recitals. For his first double evening, he focuses on selected Beethoven sonatas.

Wolfgang Haffner on his 50th stage anniversary

Wolfgang Haffner has been at home on every continent for five decades. He has played with the greatest jazz musicians and feels equally at home in a wide variety of styles. Anyone who has ever seen him live is captivated by his playing – he brings so much joy and positive energy to the stage. Schloss Elmau has long since become his second home. A Weekend with Michael Wollny

Music journalist Wolfgang Sandner described Michael Wollny as a “perfect piano master” in the FAZ newspaper, saying that he has everything you could expect from a perfect jazz pianist: virtuoso technique, imagination, discipline, sensuality and aesthetic sensibility. For two concerts, Wollny is now bringing in drummer Alexej Gerassimez for a first encounter and jazz saxophonist Emile Parisien to his side.
