    “IRISH ROOTS”
Why you must attend this concert:
Classic meets traditionals – star violinist Daniel Hope dedicates himself to the colourful and rousing Irish music and traces his “Irish Roots”.

    Daniel Hope, violin
    Simos Papanas, violin
    Markellos Chryssikos, harpsichord
    Nicola Mosca, cello
    Emanuele Forni, guitar
    Michael Metzler, percussion

Irish traditionals and works by Purcell, Vivaldi et al.

Daniel Hope owes his deep connection to the Emerald Isle to his great-grandfather. In pieces such as “Danny Boy” and Vivaldi's “L'estro armonico” concertos, the violin star now expresses this part of his musical DNA and masterfully combines classical music with Irish traditional tunes.

Nikolaus Ofczarek will speak Thomas Bernhard's sentences in the midst of the Musicbanda, while the Musicbanda will be heard performing a specialty that has made them famous: celebrating funeral marches and funeral music.

Wolfgang Haffner on his 50th stage anniversary

Wolfgang Haffner has been at home on every continent for five decades. He has played with the greatest jazz musicians and feels equally at home in a wide variety of styles. Anyone who has ever seen him live is captivated by his playing – he brings so much joy and positive energy to the stage. Schloss Elmau has long since become his second home. We are therefore celebrating his anniversary with two very special concerts.
