    Beethoven

    Chamber Music Week has been at the heart of Schloss Elmau’s cultural program since the 1950s. The 72nd edition, marking the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death, places a special focus on his great chamber music works: the cello sonatas with Daniel Müller-Schott and Francesco Piemontesi, the violin sonatas with Viktoria Mullova, and the string quartets performed by the young and award-winning Leonkoro Quartet.

    With Viktoria Mullova (violin), Daniel Müller-Schott (cello), Francesco Piemontesi (piano), Leonkoro Quartet (string quartet), and others.

    Cuban Weekend
    with Sarah Willis & Sarahbanda

    French horn and salsa band, this combination had never been seen before – until Sarah Willis, horn player with the Berlin Philharmonic, combined them in her highly successful project “Mozart y Mambo” project. Her “Sarahbanda” brings together some of the most talented musicians from Cuba in a somewhat different Cuban salsa band – with a French horn at the centre. The arrangements of the well-known Cuban music are full of infectious rhythms, lightness and energy that make the listener listen with pleasure and even encourage them to dance.

    Celebrating Nils Landgren’s 70th Birthday

    He is one of the world's best trombonists and one of the most successful European jazz musicians. Now, for the third time and the year of his 70th birthday, Nils Landgren is curating his own festival at Schloss Elmau. For this event, "Mr. Redhorn", as he is known because of his red instrument, has invited long-standing musical partners and friends from the worlds of jazz and classical music.

    With Nils Landgren, Joel Lyssarides, Robert Ikiz & Lars Danielsson, as well as a different guest artist each evening, featuring young vocal talent Ella Burkhardt and acclaimed American singer China Moses
