The Pablo Held Trio is currently one of the liveliest and most significant formations of European jazz. It transcends the boundaries between composition and improvisation by renouncing arrangements, a sequence of themes and a predetermined way of presenting them at concerts. "Investigations" is the title of the new album by Pablo Held and his longtime trio with Robert Landfermann on bass and Jonas Burgwinkel on drums, which will be released in April 2018. With this release, the trio finds a new musical home and begins a new chapter in its remarkable track record. Full of seductive elegance and lyrical sophistication, "Investigations" combines tradition with modernity, the familiar with the unknown and subtlety with passionate energy. After twelve years touring, nine acclaimed records and notable collaborations with jazz greats such as John Scofield and Chris Potter, "Investigations" is the next step.

“It's like driving two BMWs at the same time,” enthused the conductor Michael Schønwandt after a concert with Lucas and Arthur Jussen. Since their earliest childhood, the two Dutch brothers have sat together at the piano, performed before their Queen Beatrix, won prizes at competitions and received lessons from Maria João Pires and Menahem Pressler. The two acclaimed Wunderkinder have long since developed into an internationally sought-after piano duo that has conquered concert halls all over the world and brought a breath of fresh air to the classical music scene.

    Leonidas Kavakos violin
    Yuja Wang piano

Summit meeting of chamber music: Leonidas Kavakos, one of the most outstanding violinists of our time meets star pianist Yuja Wang in Schloss Elmau. The two musicians, who at first glance seem rather contradictory, are not only united by a long-standing collaboration - but their greatest musicality and highest skill also make them an ideally matched duo.
