    A Weekend with Patricia Kopatchinskaja

The Times describes Patricia Kopatchinskaja as “a player of rare expressive energy and disarming informality.” With her instinctive sense for the essence of music, she makes its significance felt here and now. For Schloss Elmau, she has designed two extraordinary evenings: the first unites Beethoven’s 8th Violin Sonata with works from the 20th century, the second is devoted entirely to the music of Igor Stravinsky – unconventional, intelligent, and irresistibly compelling.

    Gautier Capuçon teaches young musicians
Why you must attend this event:
In public master classes, you can experience firsthand how the students prepare for a concert.

“I know how difficult it is to build a career as a classical musician,” says master cellist Gautier. To support talented young artists in the early stages of their careers, Capuçon founded his own philanthropic foundation, the Fondation Gautier Capuçon, in 2022, which is under the patronage of the Fondation de France.
In the morning masterclasses, you can experience firsthand how Gautier Capuçon works with young string players and pianists, scholarship holders of his foundation, on major chamber music works. In the evening, the musicians then present the works they have rehearsed in concert.
