    The annual “Gautier Capuçon Concerts & Masterclasses” will kick off with a recital by the cello maestro himself. Capuçon will be accompanied on the piano by his longtime partner Frank Braley, with whom he has made numerous CD recordings.

    In public master classes, you can experience firsthand how the students prepare for a concert.

    “I know how difficult it is to build a career as a classical musician,” says master cellist Gautier. To support talented young artists in the early stages of their careers, Capuçon founded his own philanthropic foundation, the Fondation Gautier Capuçon, in 2022, which is under the patronage of the Fondation de France.
    In the morning masterclasses, you can experience firsthand how Gautier Capuçon works with young string players and pianists, scholarship holders of his foundation, on major chamber music works. In the evening, the musicians then present the works they have rehearsed in concert.

    Gautier Capuçon presents the young artists supported by his Fondation Gautier Capuçon

    In 2022, French cello star Gautier Capuçon founded his own foundation, the Fondation Gautier Capuçon. Its mission is to support outstanding young musicians as they take their first steps into a professional career. At Schloss Elmau, Capuçon now presents all scholarship holders of the current year over four days in public masterclasses and concerts. He himself performs the opening concert; in the masterclasses, he works with the young talents on major chamber music works, which they then present in the evening concerts.
