A Music Workshop with Daniel Hope

for children from the age of 8

Daniel Hope is a world-famous violinist, at home on the great concert stages of the world. He is also a book author, a TV presenter, and much more. The workshop will give children and teenagers an opportunity to meet Daniel Hope in person and learn more about his exciting day-to-day work as a professional musician.
Besides the artist himself, the focus will also be on his instrument, the violin: What makes its sound so unique? What means of expression does it offer? And what emotions can it be used to express?
Daniel Hope will also give a brief insight into the program of the day's concert, which follows the workshop and begins at 5:00 p.m. The workshop participants are all invited to attend the concert together.

    Yoga-Summit Concert 2023:
    Maharaj Trio
Why you must attend this concert:
The “Indian Superstars” (ZDF) are the musical highlight of the annual Yoga-Summit

    Pandit Vikash Maharaj, sarod
    Abhishek Maharaj, sitar vocals
    Prabhash Maharaj, tabla

They hold the title of “Tabla Maestro” and are proven masters of traditional Indian music – the tradition of the Maharaj family of musicians dates back to the 14th century. In their artful interplay, however, the broad spectrum of a unique ensemble sound also resounds, in which the siblings Prabash and Abhishek surround their father Vikash in freely improvised ragas in the traditional manner. Now the Indian superstars can be heard again at Schloss Elmau.

    Week of the Romantic Era
    “Longing for Home”

2023 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Russian composer, Sergei Rachmaninoff. He, like many other artists, had to leave his country and take exile in another. Displaced artists and longing for their home are the focus of the week, with the music of Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Dvorák, Heifetz, Kreisler, and Syrian composer Kinan Azmeh. Eight concerts and a lecture bring to life this subject, with the voices of these artists as well as the music that they longed for and which shaped them.

    reading in German

The morning begins in the small fishing village of Llareggub on the Welsh coast. We follow the inhabitants into their dreams, we sit in the parlors, listen to the conversations in a tavern, peek into the bridal chambers of unmarried girls, learn about the wishes of the blind captain Cat and especially follow the secret lovers up into the milk forest. A unique “prose with blood pressure”, which seems to be bursting with images, onomatopoeia and wordplay.

    Concert I

    BOOK YOUR STAY:
    Arrival Thursday, 31 August
Departure Sunday, 3 September or later

Due to high interest, hotel guests can only be guaranteed a seat at the event if they book in advance.

The celebrated composer and pianist fills large stadiums and stages worldwide. With his fascinating soundscapes, which oscillate between minimalist clarity and rushing fullness, he always leaves his audience entranced – whether in the sold-out Royal Albert Hall or on the huge Berlin Waldbühne. The Italian star also comes to Schloss Elmau with great pleasure to work, compose, make music and record CDs. For him, Elmau is, he said, “a paradise” and a “dream place.” What luck to see him in 2023 with 2 concerts at once!
