    Martha Argerich gilt als eine der größten Pianistinnen unserer Zeit und wird in einem Atemzug mit so legendären Namen wie Benedetti Michelangeli, Horowitz und Pollini genannt. Ihr Spiel begeistert Publikum und Rezensenten in aller Welt. Gemeinsam mit dem Pianisten Sergei Babayan hat die Grande Dame des Klaviers ihre jüngste CD-Aufnahme bei der Deutschen Grammophon im Herbst 2017 in Schloss Elmau aufgenommen: "Rachmaninow for two" lautet der Titel der bereits mehrfach ausgezeichneten Platte. Im Konzert erklingen nun neben Rachmaninow Werke für zwei Klaviere von Mozart und Prokofjew.

Der sardische Trompeter Paolo Fresu, der französische Akkordeonist Richard Galliano und der schwedische Pianist Jan Lundgren sind Poeten des Klangs, die mit ihrer grenzüberschreitenden Musiksprache den "Sound Europas" erklingen lassen.

    Das STEGREIF.orchester eröffnet dem Publikum ganz neue Herangehensweisen an klassische Musik. Erst hat das Orchester Beethoven "befreit", dann Schubert, jetzt kommt Johannes Brahms' 3. Symphonie an die Reihe. Seine Version ist gewürzt mit Jazz, Weltmusik und Techno. Das Ensemble spielt weder mit Noten, noch mit einem Dirigenten. Die dadurch gewonnene Freiheit schafft Raum für Improvisation und Bewegung, die Musiker bewegen sich durch den Raum, ohne Scheu, irgendwem mit ihrer Musik zu nahe zu kommen. ”Es wäre absurd, diesen Virtuosen musikalisches und interpretatorisches Stilbewusstsein aberkennen zu wollen. Im Gegenteil: Sie definieren es neu", so die ZEIT.

    Das Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich wurde 2005 als Orchester Jakobsplatz München von Dirigent Daniel Grossmann gegründet und hat sich seither unter seiner künstlerischen Leitung ein einzigartiges internationales Profil erarbeitet und die jüdische Gegenwartskultur lebendig gemacht. In Schloss Elmau widmet sich das Orchester dem Komponisten Mieczyslaw Weinberg, der in den letzten Jahren dank zahlreicher Fürsprecher wie Gidon Kremer wieder regelmäßig in Konzertprogrammen zu erleben ist.
