The war is not long ago, and the parents are trying to make up for what they call their lost years. Edgar Selge's narrative tone is full of wit and musicality. “Goethes Prophetie des ‚großen Hospitals‘ der Welt“

A new view of Goethe and the world

Manfred Osten re-reads Goethe with a view to the Corona pandemic and the climate crisis and discovers a wealth of surprising and thought-provoking insights. As early as 1787, in a letter to Charlotte von Stein, Goethe describes the future model of a global society in which "the world will become a great hospital and one another's humane orderly." The "great hospital" can be interpreted as a great world metaphor of the 21st century under the sign of a global immune deficiency. This global immunodeficiency takes the form of a pandemic of extremist boundlessness and immoderateness, from which it is necessary to escape. Goethe exhorts us to understand nature as a universe of infinite interactions.

Concert with interval. Concert-experienced children aged 10 and above, who can sit still during the concert, are welcome to attend.

The unique character of music played live is a crucial aspect of understanding the expressive beauty and compelling honesty of Grigory Sokolov's art. His poetic interpretations, which come alive with mystical intensity in the concert hall, are based on an in-depth knowledge of the repertoire. His programs span the entire history of music: from transcriptions of sacred polyphony of the Middle Ages and works by Couperin, Rameau and Bach, to the Classical and Romantic repertoire and key compositions of the 20th century. Now Grigory Sokolov returns to Schloss Elmau - with what is sure to be a compelling and impressive concert evening.
